Ukraine is facing renewed pressure on its energy system after Russian forces launched a large-scale overnight attack involving nearly 190 drones and missiles.
Ukrainian officials say energy facilities in Kyiv and surrounding regions were among the primary targets, raising concerns that Russia may be preparing another campaign aimed at disrupting electricity and heating supplies before winter. Five people, including a child, were reported killed in attacks across the country.
The latest strikes come at a critical time for Ukraine as temperatures begin to fall and energy demand increases. Energy companies have already begun repair work in affected areas, while authorities continue to assess the full extent of the damage.
For millions of Ukrainians, the biggest concern is whether the attacks will lead to prolonged power disruptions similar to previous winters.
