Passengers and crew members aboard a Flydubai flight have been praised after helping prevent what authorities described as a potentially catastrophic aviation incident.
According to officials, the co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, causing the aircraft to suddenly lose altitude before crew members and passengers intervened. The aircraft reportedly dropped nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds before control was regained.
The aircraft later landed safely, and passengers were eventually transported to their destination.
Heroic Actions Onboard
Authorities said passengers and crew entered the cockpit area and helped restrain the suspect, allowing qualified personnel onboard to assist in restoring control of the aircraft.
Many passengers described the experience as terrifying and said they believed they might not survive the incident.
