US actor Tom Skerritt has passed away at 93, his family says. They said it happened on Wednesday of natural causes, and that beyond his acting career, they knew him for his humour, curiosity, wisdom and generosity. Over six decades he appeared in Alien, Mash, A River Runs Through It and Ted, and he helped found TheFilmSchool in Seattle. Which Tom Skerritt role will you always remember?
